About the Job
As the Senior Manager of Product Development, you will lead the development of products from ideation to finish within assigned categories leveraging your skills in communication, market knowledge, sales analysis, quality and fit. You’ll develop, monitor, and manage product specifications through the product life cycle to ensure quality and customer needs are met by collaborating with internal and external partners to determine product needs, drive initiatives, resolve issues, and ensure alignment. You will know your designated category and customer needs better than anyone else and are constantly thinking about what is next for the business.

What you’ll do
- Collaborate with category/merchandising management team to provide advice related to product strategies, and providing direction regarding product needs to drive our Exclusive Brands financial performance and brand growth.
- Responsible for providing customized cost-effective quality products to maintain market leadership while maximizing margin opportunities.
- Lead the planning, managing performance, and driving growth for the category and establishing a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape while looking for creative ideas to drive business improvements, innovation, and improve the customer experience.
- Identify potential issues during the product life cycle, perform product reviews to identify variances, evaluate products against specifications, perform root cause analysis and recommend solutions to resolve issues.
- Create a cohesive team that supports and encourages all team members to grow both their career goals and the organization’s goals including conducting team member quarterly reviews, talent assessments, and development plans.
- 5 years of experience in consumer product development, merchandising, or retail branding
- 3 years of experience conveying complex or technical ideas and processes in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences
- 1 year of experience developing end-to-end strategy in a category focused role
- Understanding of product trends, industry trends, merchandising, display development and management, and program profitability analysis
- Understanding of requirements of doing business with customer, including all aspects of business, operations, finance, and distribution
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communications or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Specialized with Excel
- Experience at a range of companies including major international product brands and consumer electronics retailers
