Location: Washington, DC
Hours: Monday-Friday (hybrid). Monday & Friday - Remote. Tuesday-Thursday - Onsite

Travel: Possible 25 days travel per year

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the Government Relations team in our DC office, the Senior Manager, Political Affairs will develop and execute strategies to align AAFP’s member priorities with the evolving political environment, ensuring compliance and leveraging opportunities for advocacy. You will have a track record of developing and executing strategies, combined with curiosity, strong listening and communication skills, creative problem solving and the ability to build and maintain key relationships. Your passion is ensuring that the interests of family physicians and their patients are well represented and want to positively shape the future in transforming healthcare.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work cross functionally, you will direct all aspects of the AAFP’s political efforts including management of FamMedPAC (Family Medicine Political Action Committee). FamMedPAC supports the AAFP’s bipartisan efforts to lead the policy conversation about the health of our patients, families, and communities. You will work to increase member participation in PAC activities, oversee the disbursement of campaign contributions to Congressional candidates and incumbents and oversee all PAC related internal and external compliance. This position serves as the Executive Director and Treasurer of the PAC Advisory Board and is responsible for overseeing the activities of the board as it relates to compliance and member engagement. This role will serve as an ambassador of FamMedPAC at DC PAC events and AAFP national conferences.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Government Relations.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or through equivalent work experience, plus a minimum of four years work experience. Must have experience with PAC platforms, such as DDC and Coalescent. Solid understanding of Federal Election Commission laws helpful. In addition, excellent communication skills; the ability to manage multiple projects on short timelines needed.
Compensation Salary Range
- $114,922.00 - $163,763.00
