We are looking for a Market Analyst to join our business development team to help guide the positioning of our research and development capabilities and unlock funding sources for our mission-focused programs.
Our Business Development team is a team of 10. You will have frequent interaction with our team, and get to contribute to the overall success of the organization in tangible ways.
We will consider both remote candidates as well as candidates who prefer to have an office location at any of our research centers.
Responsibilities:- Key duties include:
- Perform quantitative and qualitative research into competitors and federal agencies to identify opportunities and enable SRI to fulfill our mission.
- Monitor, gather, and lead the analysis of competitive intelligence to stay informed of the federal research and development landscape and federal agency funding priorities, focusing on positioning SRI for growth.
- Use your creativity and strong communication skills to effectively summarize information and deliver fresh insights to our internal teams and leadership.
- Analyze data from numerous sources to identify trends and inform our world-changing research programs and funding pursuits.
- Understand the business objectives of our broad portfolio of research divisions and structure approaches to identify and analyze competitive intelligence data and assess customer preferences.
- Engage a team of portfolio managers in developing and delivering a pipeline of opportunities for SRI’s R&D capabilities across the federal government.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field with a demonstrated passion for growing your business analysis skills and capabilities.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in competitive intelligence research and analysis, or minimum 2 years of experience with an advanced degree in a relevant field of study.
- Experience in federal market research, ideally working within a broad knowledge of competitive intelligence, how federal markets function and how to analyze them.
- Experience utilizing industry tools such as GovWin, PitchBook, or similar.
- Strong written, verbal, and graphical communications skills.
- High degree of professionalism, active listening, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Must have a team focus while maintaining a demonstrated ability to work independently
- Ability to manage a wide variety of complex tasks and projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
These qualities and experiences are not required, but we would give preference to candidates who have:
- Demonstrated success in seeing trends and details that may not be readily apparent in the data.
- Experience creating data visualization and charts to explain competitive intelligence data to an audience.
- Experience looking at organizational data related to capabilities in a research-based environment.

The salary range is: $ 120,000 -$ 145,000/annually. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
