Senior Manager of Accounting - MedQuest Associates LLC

You will be responsible for oversight of the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, while having responsibility for a diverse range of complex accounting duties.  A strong technical understanding of US GAAP and accounting processes will be required for executing strategic initiatives or other complex accounting issues that arise and bringing innovative ideas to improve current processes.  As this role will be working in partnership with corporate leadership and regional management, excellent communication skills, collaboration, and ability to influence others will be key in being successful in this role.  High visibility with direct interaction with VP of accounting, CFO, VP of FP&A etc . This role will also require the ability to take initiative, execute (debate, decide, commit) and deliver results consistently while keeping a positive and tenacious attitude. 

• Plan, direct and manage accounting activities including intercompany allocations, payroll entries, fixed assets, prepaids and accruals.  Review accounting reconciliations and approve journal entries associated with these accounting areas. 
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring for the Accounting Department team; create an environment that inspires, fosters, and encourages team members to express differing views, approaches and solutions that deliver the best results for the company.
• Manage a timely and accurate financial close on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles.
• Identify recurring and non-recurring transactions to facilitate management reporting.
• Overall responsibility of the general ledger including review of journal entries and monthly reconciliations; performs meaningful variance analysis and presents results to leadership.
• Manage Company’s revenue recognition procedures and accounts receivable.  Work closely with Revenue Cash Management team to drive efficiencies and establish best-in-class processes. 
• Develop effective internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial reporting; monitor and enforce internal controls to minimize risk to company.
• Support the establishment of annual financial objectives which align with the company's plans for operations, growth, and expansion, including revenues, expenses and overall profitability.
• Manages other projects as needed (e.g. system implementations/upgrades).
• Quarterly lender reporting

Required knowledge, skills and ability:

• NetSuite or similar ERP experience
• Thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, operational risk assessment and financial reporting.
• Lender reporting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate issues, identify and provide sound guidance for resolution.
• Expert level of proficiency in Excel preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills including presentation skills. 
• Proven ability to manage projects, allocate resources and collaborate across disciplines and locations.  Excellent organization skills.
• Self-motivated and independent, detail oriented, strong work ethic, and high integrity and ethical standards.

   Education:   

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
• CPA certification required.

   Experience:

• 7+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience required.  Public accounting experience with national accounting firms through manager level preferred.
• 4+ years managing a small team of direct reports; proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
