About the Job
Gpac is seeking a Senior Manager of Inventory & Logistics. This role would be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of inventory management, logistics, and supply chain operations for the company's product line(s).
This role involves ensuring the timely delivery of products, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This role would lead the team in coordinating the movement of goods from suppliers to warehouses, ensuring the storage and distribution processes meet quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Manage and optimize inventory levels to meet demand forecasts and ensure product availability while minimizing overstock and stockouts.
- Monitor and analyze inventory turnover, stock levels, and product shelf life to recommend and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and production teams to develop accurate demand forecasting.
- Implement and manage inventory control systems to track the flow of pet treats products through the supply chain.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Logistics and Distribution:
- Oversee logistics operations, including inbound shipments from suppliers and outbound deliveries to retail, wholesale, and direct-to-consumer channels.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and freight carriers to ensure timely, cost-effective transportation.
- Coordinate shipping schedules and monitor delivery performance to meet customer expectations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to shipping delays, product damages, or inventory discrepancies.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement strategies for improving efficiency, reducing costs, and optimizing supply chain operations.
- Streamline processes for order fulfillment, stock replenishment, and inventory reconciliation.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover, lead time, stock-outs, and order accuracy.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and develop a team of inventory and logistics professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative, results-oriented environment that emphasizes continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure seamless integration of inventory management and logistics with other business functions.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on inventory levels, supply chain issues, and logistics performance.
- Serve as the point of contact for any inventory and logistics-related issues or concerns.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards for the storage, transportation, and handling of pet treat products.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for inventory and logistics processes in line with industry regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. (Master’s degree is a plus)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, and supply chain operations, with at least 5 years in managerial or leadership role.
- Previous experience in the food manufacturing, consumer goods, or pet product industry is highly preferred.
- Must have prior experience managing inventory and logistics
- Strong knowledge of logistics terms and charges, inventory management software (e.g., EDI, ERP systems), and supply chain optimization tools.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to leverage data for decision-making.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift and move products or materials (up to 30 pounds).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including potential travel to warehouses or distribution centers.
