Senior Manager, HR & People Operations
Position Summary
The Senior Manager, HR & People Operations leads a small team responsible for the day-to-day operations of Singer’s US human resources’ function. This includes employee relations, HR related business processes, employment records, HRIS, benefits administration, compensation administration, position management, benefits administration, and leave management. .
This position is onsite everyday in Torrance, CA.
The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish.
Essential Functions
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees on a wide range of HR-related matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote a positive and inclusive work environment and mitigate risks.
HR Operations:
- Maintains the US employee handbook and make recommendations regarding people related policies and procedures to create a compliant, efficient, and productive work environment consistent with our culture and in conformance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Partners with stakeholders to develop and implement US, and at times global, people related business processes.
- Coordinates maintenance and configuration of the global HRIS system.
Benefits and Compensation Administration:
- Manage the Sr. HR Specialist to design, implement, and administer the employee benefits programs in the US, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with regulations.
- Partner with benefits brokers and vendors to evaluate and enhance benefit offerings based on employee needs and market trends.
- Administer employee leaves of absences, including FMLA.
- Lead US compensation administration, including salary benchmarking, promotions and merit increases, to ensure alignment with business objectives and market standards.
Leadership:
- Support efforts to enhance company culture, foster diversity and inclusion, and promote employee well-being.
- Collaborate with international HR teams to drive consistency and best practices across regions.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Manages, motivates, coaches and supports the development of direct reports.
- Compliance and Projects:
- Provides support and guidance on specialized and sensitive questions and issues such as requests for workplace accommodations and investigating allegations of wrongdoing.
- Tracks and administers required Federal and State reports and filings, such as the annual EEO-1 report and California Pay Reporting.
- Stays current with trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, and employment law and makes recommendations for programmatic changes.
- Works on assigned special projects and initiatives, as well as all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of human resource management experience, with 5+ years’ experience managing an HR team.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with Federal and State of California employment regulations.
- MBA or HR certifications such as SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred
- Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing environments.

Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must be able to work in a seated or standing position for extended periods
- Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms at computer keyboard for extended periods
- Must have ability to speak clearly and distinctly, hear and be heard and understood both in person and by telephone
- Ability to drive to multiple Singer locations to provide on-site service
- As required, must maintain a valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record and appropriate insurance limits and/or be insurable under the Singer’s company vehicle insurance policy
Compensation
The starting salary range for this position is between $140,000 - 175,000 per year, plus an annual bonus plan. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
