We’re looking for an Sr. Manager, Global Learning & Development (L&D) to help with our efforts; Oversee daily operations for corporate learning partnership and overall learning program development. Oversee creation and implementation of formal, informal and experiential learning. Drive the organizational learning strategy through ongoing production and evaluation of learning tools, staff development and strategic planning. The focus areas of materials development include culture transformation, management/ leadership development and coaching, team effectiveness, talent management, skill enhancement and employee development across global ship and shore population.
The Sr. Manager will work with teams across Holland America Group, with reporting offices in Santa Clarita, CA, and Seattle, WA; we’re looking for amazing humans across the country for this role. HA Group offers strong compensation and outstanding benefits including cruise travel.

Responsibilities
- In collaboration with Director, Learning, Culture &DEI, partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and agree on learning and development strategies to meet agreed upon business goals
- Engages in regular, consistent communication with business partners, stakeholders and team members to drive successful solutions
- Maintains knowledge of modern learning technologies and their application throughout the industry to select technology solutions that support and enhance the acquisition of learning
- Gathers and analyzes evaluation data to determine action and success metrics, and to report level 4 results data to evaluate the learning program’s organizational impact
- Ensures completion of standardized documentation and adherence to standard operating procedures including production and evaluation governance of learning tools
- Manages internal and external resources (i.e. vendors), monitoring timelines, prioritizing projects and meeting budgetary/ROI requirements
- Analyzes organizational talent needs and identifies gaps in current organizational workforce to determine employee development and learning opportunities
- Partners with Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, Employee Relations and Crew Scheduling to build the organization’s culture, engagement, capability and capacity
- Supports and communicates the vision of what the organization can become to inspire and align departmental efforts accordingly
- Seeks innovative ways to improve the organization through experimentation and taking risks. Accept inevitable disappointments as learning opportunities
- Fosters collaboration and builds a spirited team through active engagement with others. Demonstrate mutual respect to create an atmosphere of trust
- Creates opportunities for individual to stretch current skill set, providing feedback and additional guidance, as needed
- In collaboration with the Sr. Manager of Culture/DEI provide guidance and assist the development and implementation of materials and programs in support of the Culture Action Plan, Culture Essentials and DEI work
- Demonstrate behaviors and champion company Culture Essentials, mission, vison and values
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in management of human resources development, learning functions or related field
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, Communications, Learning & Development or a related field
- CPLP or equivalent certification highly desirable
- Strong business orientation and demonstrated ability to easily work within and across the organization
- Experience in curriculum design, implementation and monitoring development systems
- Experienced in consulting and training on organizational change
- Ability to analyze data gathered from diagnostic tools and HR metrics
- Excellent communication, team facilitation and presentation skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and one-on-one coaching skills, with judgment and maturity to handle wide variety of people and diverse work teams
- Must be able to travel and work a flexible schedule
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Articulate Storyline/CBT authoring tools
