As the Senior Category Manager for Capex, you will be responsible for leading, developing, planning, implementing, analyzing, and executing category sourcing strategies and purchasing initiatives around construction, warehouse integration, and automation. What you'll do on a typical day:
- Strategic Sourcing: Developing and implementing sourcing strategies for construction / integration related categories.
- Supplier Management: Identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Cost Management: Analyzing costs, monitoring budget compliance, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Risk Management: Assessing and mitigating risks related to procurement activities, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and regulatory changes.
- Project Coordination: Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to support construction projects by providing timely procurement of required goods and services.
- Contract Management: Overseeing the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, and executing contracts, as well as managing contract amendments and terminations.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in procurement activities.
- Data Analysis: Utilizing data analytics tools to gather and analyze procurement data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize procurement processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
- Communication: Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and other external parties to facilitate smooth procurement operations and achieve project objectives.
At a minimum, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Construction Management or related field or equivalent related work or military experience
- 5 years of experience in category management including negotiating multimillion-dollar contracts, preferably related to Capital Expenditure, Engineering, Integration, Equipment, and/or Construction
- Experience in reviewing contract language and redlining SOWs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to create complex formulas in Excel
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends; ability to travel 10% domestically
- Master's degree
- Ability to identify opportunities to increase accuracy, optimize resources and develop, recommend and implement solutions
- Experience with e-sourcing platforms and auctions
- Ability to develop insightful, value-added and actionable research with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results; produce unambiguous, comprehensive and accurate interpretations
- Solid aptitude for understanding and researching large amounts of data from multiple sources; perform complex research of data, processes, policies, procedures and/or systems
- Ability to utilize a variety of interpersonal styles and communication methods to effectively adapt to new work structures, processes, or cultures
