Job Summary: Retaining customer confidence in the event of a disaster is critical to Equinix and requires seamless integration of all aspects of Business Continuity and Crisis Management (BCCM). BCCM’s primary focus is administering a program that identifies critical processes, associated risk to those processes, and develops preparedness strategies and plans to mitigate the risk resulting in operational disruptions. The position of Sr. Manager, Business Continuity will assist the Global Business Continuity Program Office (BCPO) in design and implementation of crisis management and business recovery plans. This position reports to the Director, of the BCPO and will communicate across all levels of the organization, including significant exposure to senior management. The Business Continuity Program Office resides within the Global Risk and Security team. Ideal candidate would have experience working with and fostering cross-regional teams (APAC, Americas, EMEA).
Serve as backup for monitoring and evaluating developing situations globally and notify Director and Vice President of the need to trigger the crisis management process as well as assisting in the triggering and facilitation of the crisis management process including after-hours and cross-regional response
Update plans, crisis management tools and provide crisis management training as needed
Assist in developing and facilitating crisis management exercises, after-action reports and tracking and reporting outstanding action-items to completion
Recovery Plans – Office & Datacenter
Periodically update/perform business impact analysis (BIA)
Evaluate and develop Datacenter and Office threat and risk assessments templates for changes/developments in the risk profile as well as high-level reporting
Partnering with Operations to ensure resiliency policies and procedures reflect best practices, are well understood, communicated and tested
Evaluate and implement new business recovery planning tool based on business process methodology
Determine criticality of business processes and resource requirements for recovery
Develop recovery strategies and workaround procedures and assist with implementation
Work with departmental business continuity coordinators to create or maintain departmental business recovery plans, including recovery strategies, RTOs and RPOs
Develop process flows and map dependencies on a departmental and enterprise-wide basis
Develop office plan testing strategies
Training & Communication
Increase enterprise-wide business continuity awareness and ownership
Provide ongoing training to all plan personnel
Maintain and serve as administrator for emergency notification systems
Complete periodic system enhancements and testing and training
Develop, maintain and audit online resource for IBX Business Continuity testing repository
BA/BS in Physical Security, Business Continuity, Information Technology, Finance or related field
10 years proven business continuity planning/crisis or disaster management/testing/analysis experience (preferably 2+ years within a management role)
Professional certification (DRII, BCI or IAEM) preferred
Experience in using business continuity planning applications and emergency notification tools and systems
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining aggressive deadlines
Excellent written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
Up to 10% travel, both domestic and international
