If you are looking for a challenging opportunity where you can continue to learn, grow, and make a lasting impact, come join us! **_The ideal fit is a leader that:_** + Is an effective change agent, adept at fostering and developing a resilient accounting team that adapts to the ever-changing industry. + Provides expert accounting and financial management support which helps us quantify ROI on initiative, operate efficiently, and make more informed business decisions. + Sees opportunities for improvements in efficiency, capacity, accuracy, and automation, thoughtfully leveraging data, technology, and partners from design to implementation. **What you will do:** **_Provide strategic insights and direction to the organization:_** + Serve as a key advisor and subject matter expert within the Company on a wide variety of complex technical accounting and financial reporting matters. + Collaborate extensively with stakeholders across the organization to support the and influence execution of Premera's strategic initiatives. + Leverage expertise in accounting and health plan knowledge to inform change and process improvements. **_Provide financial management and accounting expertise:_** + Oversee and ensure financial accuracy for critical aspects of the Company's accounting function, including billing, GL, cost accounting, fixed assets accounting, consolidation, and revenue recognition. + Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, including the completion of month-end-close processes and reconciliations, ensuring accurate data management and faster decision-making. + Research and recommend solutions for GAAP, statutory accounting transactions, and reporting requirements. **_Increase operational efficiency and ensure compliance adherence:_** + Proactively evaluate opportunities to drive efficiencies and effectiveness in accounting and operational processes/systems and the accounting close process. + Recommend, develop, and maintain financial databases and computer software systems supporting the accounting functions. + Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. + Leverage and maximize Workday capabilities, identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation enhancements, and efficiencies. **_Lead and develop a high-performing team:_** + Build a resilient team that can navigate and thrive in a changing, continuous improvement environment. + Mentor and develop your team, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth. + Evolve the technical expertise of the accounting division, growing individuals as subject matter experts over their domains. + Set the vision for the team, develop measurable goals that support the execution and success of company strategies. **_What you will bring:_** + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (Required) + Twelve years of financial reporting and accounting experience or a CPA with seven years of reporting and accounting experience. (Required) + Seven years of experience leading teams. (Required) + In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience researching technical accounting issues, including familiarity in areas such as Revenue Recognition, Capitalization of Internally Developed Software, and Intercompany consolidations.
