About Our Client:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their legal team. This role is responsible for managing various aspects of litigation cases, including discovery, trial preparation, and document management, while working closely with attorneys and support staff. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of litigation processes and a proactive approach to improving case management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage all stages of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and trial activities.
· Implement and maintain a calendaring system to track critical filing deadlines and ensure the timely distribution of case-related information.
· Utilize and/or develop systems for the efficient organization, retrieval, and sharing of documents among the legal team.
· Coordinate and supervise junior paralegals and support staff on large, multi-phase litigation matters, from discovery to trial/arbitration.
· Serve as a liaison between attorneys and support staff to ensure that case-specific paralegal services meet expectations and proactively identify areas for improvement.
· Work with external entities such as courts, government agencies, expert witnesses, and vendors to gather necessary information or coordinate activities related to trials and arbitrations.
· Lead efforts to support discovery and witness preparation.
· Draft, review, and analyze legal documents as directed by attorneys; perform legal research as required.
· Build and maintain relationships with co-counsel and other law firms working on the same case.
· Uphold confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information related to firm and client matters.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a top-tier firm or specialized litigation practice.
· Comprehensive experience with all phases of litigation, including case intake, discovery, and trial preparation.
· Familiarity with trial and arbitration preparation, including coordinating logistics and setting up necessary resources.
· Proficient in organizing and maintaining paper and electronic case files.
· Strong knowledge of citation rules, including Bluebook and cite-checking.
· Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability.
· Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the firm, maintaining professionalism and a strong service orientation.
· Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often with shifting priorities.
· Team-oriented with the ability to take on both leadership and supportive roles as needed.
· Demonstrated ability to perform well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
· Excellent judgment, particularly in high-pressure situations requiring sound decision-making.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with clear, concise, and grammatically correct expression.
· Experience with court and administrative filings, including electronic filing systems.
· Familiarity with e-discovery platforms such as Relativity or Nuix Discover.
· Experience with litigation support software such as Live Note, CaseMap, or similar platforms is a plus.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
· Experience with LexisNexis, Westlaw, and Adobe Acrobat in a legal context.
· Ability to work overtime and travel as required.
· Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from an accredited college.
· Paralegal certification preferred.
