Client :
Our diverse engineering client founded in 1964 and headquartered in central New Jersey supports their Building Technologies business by providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEP&FP) and structural engineering, insurance/forensics investigations, project management and construction management services. Engineering staff includes multi-disciplined professionals licensed in twenty-six states, as well as LEED Accredited Professionals, Certified Energy Auditors and Certified Energy Managers. Construction management staff is comprised of licensed building inspectors, mechanical inspectors, certified building plan examiners, registered roofing observers, and reserve specialists certified by the Community Association Institute. Their team of engineers is experienced in all facets of building engineering for every type of building.
Description:
IMMEDIATE NEED for a Structural Engineer with eight years or more of structural design experience familiar with steel, concrete, masonry, and timber construction. The selected candidate will lead projects regarding new construction, forensic engineering, and renovations of existing structures. This position will report to the Principal in charge of the Structural Department. Either Warren or Point Pleasant locations are fine.
Responsibilities:
- Lead projects regarding the development of new construction, forensic engineering, and renovations.
- Design of structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry structures.
- Prepare structural calculations using standard engineering software.
- Assess existing conditions, establish project budgets, write detailed technical proposals, and reports.
- Lead design efforts for all types of structural projects.
- Ability to work on a major project or on a series of projects.
- Review complete project documents.
- Supervise structural design staff necessary to complete assignments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar with an emphasis on Structural Engineering.
- PE License preferred.
- Minimum of eight years or more working in the building technologies environment.
- Proficiency in all aspects of structural design and calculations.
- Familiar with steel, concrete, masonry, and timber construction.
- Ability to prepare a design familiar with new construction, forensic engineering, as well as renovations.
- AutoCAD required.
- Experience in some of the following project types – education, civic/government, retail, office, renovations, high tech/R&D, data centers, and healthcare.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate in a team setting.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access job site areas.
- Valid US driver’s license
Bachelor's Degree in Civil – Structural Engineering or similar.
