The Construction Manager will work for our client, a leading civil engineering firm, established in 1999 and recently voted as one of the Top 25 Engineering firms by NJ Biz. This firm has steadily grown based on a solid reputation for providing quality service. The diverse staff includes a team of respected engineers and inspectors throughout NY and NJ. Efforts include some of the largest transportation projects in the New York Metropolitan area such as the Raising of the Bayonne Bridge, Tappan Zee Hudson River Crossing, NJ Turnpike Widening, and Fulton Street Transit Center.

Description:
Reporting to the Resident Engineer at Grand Central Station, immediate need for three Construction Manager - Inspectors to oversee an MTA project to install a new standpipe system at Grand Central. This Construction Manager/Construction Engineer should have one of the listed NICET certifications. Or the right candidate should have the appropriate experience given the certifications and would be willing to get one of these certifications ASAP. This is a five-year contract on-site.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.
• Eight to ten (8-10) years of experience in Construction Management of similar projects.
• For Fire Protection systems, standpipes, and sprinklers, NICET II in water-based system layout or NICET II in Inspection/Testing of water-based systems
• For fire alarms, NICET II in Fire Alarm systems, or NICET II in Inspection/Testing of Fire Alarm systems
• For the electrical scope, NICET II in Electrical Power Testing.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly for writing daily narratives and reports.

Education:
BS in Engineering or Construction Management
