About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Applications Developer to contribute to a high-impact project with the State of Texas. This hybrid role requires onsite work 2 days per week in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of Java development experience and must have prior experience working with state clients, preferably with the State of Texas. This Contract-to-Contract (C2C) opportunity offers significant potential for long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, enterprise-level applications using Java, Spring, and Hibernate.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement best practices for software development.
- Develop dynamic user interfaces using Angular and ensure smooth integration with backend services.
- Manage web server deployments using Tomcat and ensure optimal performance of Java applications.
- Configure and integrate enterprise tools such as Ag-Grid and IBM Process Automation Manager as part of the development process.
- Manage Maven repositories and oversee build processes for seamless application deployment.
- Leverage Azure DevOps for CI/CD, version control, and pipeline management.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and optimization of existing applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code, collaborating with stakeholders and team members to address issues.
- Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers, fostering adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Ensure that all development aligns with the State of Texas' security and compliance requirements.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience as a Java Developer in enterprise environments, delivering scalable and high-quality solutions.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and Tomcat.
- Experience with Angular for front-end development and integration.
- Hands-on experience with Ag-Grid and IBM Process Automation Manager.
- Expertise in managing Maven repositories and build processes.
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines, version control, and collaboration.
- Demonstrated experience working with State clients or government entities, with a preference for those who have worked on State of Texas projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues.
- Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience in an Agile environment.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of data security and compliance requirements for government projects.
Additional Information:
- Hybrid position with 2 days per week onsite in Austin, TX.
