About the Job
IES Residential is looking for an experienced Sr. IT System Administrator with extensive experience in Azure and Active Directory to manage and optimize our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of our systems, ensuring high availability and security. This role requires strong technical skills, problem solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and support Azure cloud services, including virtual machines, networking, and storage.
- Administer Active Directory (AD) environments, group policies, and security settings.
- Monitor the performance and configuration of systems and perform routine maintenance and upgrades. Ensure that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are kept up to date.
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures and processes.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to plan and execute IT projects.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, best practices and OS patching.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior IT staff and end users.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in IT systems administration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 – 7 years of experience in IT System Administration, with a focus on Azure and Active Directory.
- Experience with MS AD Technologies/Domains, including group policy and Management, Intune, Autopilot, Teams (voice), Microsoft 365 administration, SharePoint online and standardization. Experience with Domain migrations is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing concepts and services in Azure.
- Experience with complex IT Infrastructures, virtualized environments, particularly VMWare and Win platforms both on-prem and cloud.
- Proficiency in Active Directory management, including user provisioning and policy management.
- Experience migrating legacy on-prem apps over to cloud while providing cost effective solutions.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, MCSA, MCSE) are a plus.
