Title: Senior IT Project Manager (GIS/Utilities) – Consultant
Location: 100% remote (company is based in Denver, CO)
Hire Type: Contract (8+ months – eligible for extensions and full-time hire)
Compensation: $90-95/hour

Responsible for managing project teams that configure and implement systems, develop applications, and supporting application infrastructure components which enable the automation of business processes supporting the electric & gas utility business. Manages the delivery and implementation of information technology projects meeting scope, schedule, budget, business requirements, and quality objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Project Management: Primary project management responsibility, including scope, financial/budget, and schedule management. Manage information technology projects following standard IT Product Lifecycle project management methodology. Major activities include business case development, solution selection, design, development, integration, testing, and implementation of business-driven projects. Other activities include working with business colleagues and vendors partners to develop or shape business requirements and strategic delivery approach that minimize both technical and business risks.
• Leadership: Provides daily work direction for internal project resources across multiple cross functional groups including contractors and consultants. Fosters and maintains relationships with vendor partners, clients, colleagues, and project team. Provides point of view and develops strategic approach to address problem space.
• Vendor Management: Maintains relationships with key technology and outsourcing vendors adhering to standard vendor management guidelines and practices. Responsible for vendor selection, negotiations, contract development, and influencing software vendor product roadmaps.
• Staffing: Responsible to identify staffing needs on a project and taking action to fulfill those needs.
Requirements:
• Masters or Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or management information systems.
• 15+ years project management experience required including management of a project > $5M.
• Prior experience as a business analyst, developer, architect, system integrator, or test manager roles are highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of information systems to include middleware, UNIX/WINTEL server, desktop software, client/server applications, web applications, distributed applications, information security and data protection, mainframe, storage, and network technologies.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical matters in business terms.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification highly desirable.
• Scrum Master Certification is highly desirable.
• Resource management experience including matrix management, multi-cross functional.
