Job Summary:
The Senior Designer will lead and manage high-profile interior design projects from concept to completion. As a key member of our design team, you will work closely with Lisa (Principal Designer), clients, oversee junior designers, and collaborate with vendors and contractors to bring inspired concepts to life. This role requires strong leadership, creative problem-solving, and a deep understanding of the interior design process. You will also be responsible for managing and recording the technical aspects of each project and ensuring that all deliverables meet overall project schedules and requirements. Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
- Independently lead design projects for residential and/or commercial projects, ensuring creative vision aligns with Principal Designer, client goals and project scope.
- Oversee and guide designers and design assistants throughout all project phases with oversight from Principal Designer.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful completion.
- Inform the Principal Designer of any challenges or project-related issues and attend regular meetings with Principal/Team to ensure alignment.
Client Engagement:
- Serve as the primary client liaison, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Present design concepts, mood boards, material samples, and technical drawings to clients.
- Work with Principal Designer and clients to define project requirements and develop design criteria.
Design Development:
- Create and present innovative interior design concepts in response to client needs in collaboration with Principal Designer.
- Develop and refine design concepts, including space planning, material selection, furniture layouts, and color schemes.
- Use software tools to design, sketch, and create detailed drawings of proposed projects, including graphic presentations, and construction drawings.
- Create estimates, schedules, and staffing plans to complete projects successfully.
- Ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, and budgetary requirements.
Technical Oversight:
- Manage and record all technical aspects of the project, ensuring accuracy in specifications, drawings, and documentation.
- Prepare and present design development packages and construction documents.
- Collaborate with project managers, design coordinators, and project teams to meet overall project goals and schedules.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination:
- Source and specify materials, furniture, lighting, and finishes in conjunction with Principal Designer.
- Coordinate with fabricators and vendors to facilitate project installations and meet project goals.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve any design-related challenges.
Team Collaboration:
- Mentor and provide constructive feedback to design team members.
- Collaborate with the Principal Designer to develop and implement design strategies.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing high-end residential and/or commercial projects (required).
- 2+ years of proven success in a leadership role in interior design.
Technical Skills:
- High proficiency in CAD required, with the ability to perform a full range of interior design-related functions.
- Experience with Studio Designer Webware ideal.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
- Ability to create graphic presentations and detailed construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of construction documentation, materials, and finishes.

- Exceptional design sensibility with a strong eye for detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively in different situations.
- Proven ability to work with coordinators and fabricators.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
