About the Job
A recognized Dallas Interior Design firm is looking to add a Senior Interior Designer to their team. This position works directly under the management of the Principal Designer and is responsible for managing the development and execution of the design from the conceptual to the presentation stage, through the completion of project documents and final installation.
Responsibilities include:
Design Leadership
o Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment
o Brings creative and innovative design ideas to the team, high level of furniture design experience and ability to problem solve in the moment.
o Develops and executes creative design solutions addressing individual client needs
o Ability to lead vendors through custom projects
o Establishes and communicates project deadline requirements and goals with vendors, contractors, subs and design team
o Manage onsite coordination with contractors and subs.
o Manage custom vendors and ensure things are moving along in timely manner, including weekly visit to workrooms.
o Managing approvals of design teamwork & quotes before submission, checking for accuracy.
Project Development
o Collaborate with Principal Designer on range of projects. From concept and presentations, to completion, ensuring a seamless and cohesive design process.
o Collaborate with Principal to execute vision, preferences, and material selections to create bespoke and personalized design solutions.
o Generate detailed drawings, fast revisions, mood boards, and presentations to effectively communicate design concepts to clients and team members
o Establishes and communicates project deadline requirements and goals with vendors, contractors, subs and design team
o AutoCAD and Sketch-Up proficiency – pro-create proficiency preferred
o Ability to self-manage as well as have a bird’s eye view of project status, willing and eager to support juniors where needed to meet deadlines
Project Installations
o Manage prep for installations by confirming design & installation team has needed materials as well as specifications & drawings needed.
o Manage prep for installations Conduct any site measurements to ensure doorway, walk way stairs etc.. Will accommodate furniture being installed.
Technical Skills/ Qualifications
o Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent
o 5-10 years of experience in interior architecture & design
o Experience in AutoCAD, Autodesk Sketchbook, Procreate, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, and Studio Designer.
o Experience in project management.
o Experience in managing creative design teams in a detailed project management environment
o Builder & Vendor relations skills
o Experience in styling.
