Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of complex insurance defense matters from inception to resolution.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to provide strategic guidance to clients.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Collaborate with partners and other team members to develop case strategies and ensure client objectives are met.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar with a minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law in New York.
- Extensive experience in insurance defense litigation, with a focus on insurance coverage disputes, personal injury claims, and property damage cases.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to mentor junior associates.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience representing insurers and/or self-insured entities.
- Knowledge of New York civil procedure and substantive law.
- Experience with alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation and arbitration.
- Strong academic credentials.
