Reporting to: Senior Director of Electrical Engineering

Your role in the mission:

Type One Energy are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to be responsible for the development of the product and software development server infrastructures and development tools for our stellarator fusion technologies. The development will include all aspects of server security, access, networking, specification and deployment of the servers and tools. This role will develop and maintain the core software development tool chain – repository, build, versioning and deployment.

What you’ll need:

Desired Knowledge and/or Experience

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Server Configuration – Firewall, Switch, WAN and LAN configuration
• Fortinet devices and management platform
• Languages – Python, Go, Scripting – JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, Git
• Automated Software Build Tools – CMAKE, Ninja, Jenkins, Ansible
• Software Repository and Versioning – Git, GitHub
• Software Deployment Tools
• CI/CD – Continuous Integration/Continuous Development Tools
• VM configurations – RedHat, Ubuntu, Windows
• Operating Systems – Linux, Windows
• HyperVisors – Proxmox, ESXI
• Containers – Docker, Kubernetes
• WAN and LAN Network Configuration and Security
• Software Deployment – version management, VMs and Containers, remote boot
• Software Development Processes – Architecture, Design and Interface Documentation, Requirements, Tracing, Testing
