About the Job
The Senior IT Administrator is a core component of the team supporting the IT Department and employees. The incumbent is directly responsible to support all aspect of IT to ensure objectives and timelines are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the organization.
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Provides a weekly status on all development projects within the department and makes recommendations concerning all aspects of the projects.
+ Provides end-user support for PC based hardware, applications, and services.
+ Performs network and server maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
+ Supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to server and network infrastructure including email, remote access, file and print services.
+ Supports and maintains email and user account information including rights, security and systems groups.
+ Maintains documentation of IT infrastructure including hardware and software inventory, server applications, and all other network services.
+ Performs system backups.
+ Recommends and schedules repairs.
+ Evaluates new information systems products or services and suggests changes to existing products or services to better aide the end users.
+ New user setup and orientation.
+ Documents, tracks and monitors problems to ensure a timely resolution.
+ Ensure the company meets and continues to meet NIST 800-171 compliancy.
+ Lead by example to promote safety awareness and use of PPE appropriately.
+ Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so to support business needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
+ BS degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
+ 10+ years’ experience supporting Windows based servers and hardware in a networked environment (A+, MCSA or MCSE is a plus).
+ Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and services such as DNS, DHCP, etc.
+ Experience with Microsoft Exchange and DFS, LINUX administration, virtualization products like VMware.
+ Database development experience with MS SQL Server or MySQL and basic web development experience a plus.
+ Individual must possess a high degree of technical expertise in IT and be capable of interacting with all departments.
+ Proficient with WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT.
+ Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems and work independently.
+ Ability to handle and protect confidential information.
Regular on-site attendance is a necessary function of this position.
