About the Job
The Human Resources Director Home Office will support the Home Office HR Vice President to ensure HR goals and objectives are met and are top of mind for our Merchandising and Planning & Allocation Business Partners. The HR Director meets with associates in all parts of the company to collect information necessary to develop and operate effective human resources programs/services and to support evaluation/implementation of assigned programs and services. The role will be responsible for improvement to HR services, programs, procedures and provides best in class human resources generalist strategy and support.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the HR strategic partnership for Merchandising and Planning & Allocation departments.
- Partner with business leaders in establishing talent plans that ensure achievement of strategic priorities, organizational design and long-term goals.
- Lead and manage HR Business Partners to successfully influence and deliver talent plans and strategies by department.
- Manage employee relations, for a designated population, ensuring excellent climate and morale.
- Proactively assess team's morale and engagement and create a strategy to address gaps, executing that plan flawlessly.
- Develop sound succession planning strategies ensuring talent is aligned at the right place and time.
- Partner with leadership and key stakeholders on change management and communication of large initiatives.
- Investigate claims, complaints and concerns raised by associates, ensuring quick resolution and following-up as necessary to mitigate reoccurrence.
- Build and maintain extensive relationships with client group supporting leadership and the team with best talent solutions to support/drive the business.
- Ensure excellent HR operations associated with generalist responsibilities (leave management, compensation practices, talent acquisition, benefits, HR systems, etc.).
- Ensure HR processes and practices meet legal and company compliance requirements.
- Manage, mentor and develop a team of HR Business Partners.
Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree highly desirable. PHR/SPHR preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience as a generalist from a large company setting.
- Corporate retail experience required; retail merchandising strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and experience working at all levels effectively with the ability to influence, work collaboratively, resolve conflict and gain consensus across a large organization.
- Demonstrated ability to implement programs through effective use of communication skills in formal and informal settings.
- Proven team leader with direct reporting management experience
