Purpose
At Western Elite, our Senior Human Resource Generalists are an integral part of the day-to-day activities of our Human Resource department, ensuring that the Company is compliant with all federal and state regulations, and operating in accordance with the company’s Core Values, policies, and programs. During the performance of their various duties in this full-time on-site role, our Senior Human Resource Generalists are a model of Western Elite’s Core Values. Essential Job Functions
- Serve as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries and provide guidance to employees and leaders on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay current on and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations and trends, while advocating for best practices; continuously evaluate policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Implement and enforce HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
- Provide expert advice on a range of employment-related topics, including ADA, FMLA, FLSA, harassment, discrimination, and progressive discipline, to support organizational leadership.
- Gathers and analyzes organizational indicators data and collaborates with the HR Director to devise and implement strategies addressing areas of concern.
- Use salary and compensation software and published economic data to track wage trends to provide interpretations and perspectives.
- Enter and maintain accurate HR records in the HRMS (currently ADP) and generate reports to support data-driven decision-making.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints, conflicts, or misconduct allegations and recommend appropriate resolutions. Conducts exit interviews as needed.
- Perform the day-to-day administration of the company’s 401(k) program.
- Support the Company benefits programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including maintenance, bill audit, enrollment, benefits meetings, annual open enrollment, etc.
- Ability to work well with others in Demonstrates robust engagement with all team members, embracing diverse perspectives and fostering a culture of inclusivity, accountability, honesty, and respect. Actively supports employees in problem-solving endeavors.
- Foster a supportive environment within the HR organization that encourages personal and professional development at all levels. This enables the HR team to better support each other and enhance their collective effectiveness as they strive to provide WOW customer service to all team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement HR initiatives, including employee engagement programs (Company Party, Turkey/Ham Day, Christmas Express, etc.)
- Process company payroll weekly using ADP Workforce Now, including tax calculations, deductions, garnishments, and issuing W-2 forms, while maintaining accurate records and addressing employee inquiries and discrepancies.
- Oversee and administer the company’s PTO (Paid Time Off) program.
- Support the HR team and HR Director in completing various tasks as assigned.

Secondary Job Functions
- Engage positively and professionally with fellow employees in all interactions, including posting on the company’s internal social media platform.
- Skillfully create and edit various documents including policies, notices, emails, and social media posts.
- Create and distribute various reports as directed.
- Assist with various enrollment and training meetings (monthly benefit enrollment, annual open enrollment, quarterly 401(k) enrollment, ongoing leadership training, etc.).
- Work with the team to ensure that work and break areas are organized, efficient, clean, and safe.

Minimum Qualifications
- 18 years of age.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish is required.
Position Specific Requirements
- At least 7 years of dedicated progressive Human Resources Generalist experience is required.
- Professional certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Advanced competency in MS Office and ADP Workforce Now
- Possess a high emotional IQ, with the ability to understand and empathize with employee concerns, challenges, and emotions.
- Have clear and effective communication skills to convey policies, procedures, and company goals to employees. This includes technical writing and active listening.
- Demonstrate integrity in actions and decision-making while dealing with confidential information, employee relations matters, and organizational policies.
- Be able to think strategically; have the ability to envision and anticipate future workforce needs and contribute to long-term organizational success.
- Ability to collaborate with other departments, leaders, and employees to implement HR programs and initiatives.
- Demonstrate resiliency and the ability to remain composed and optimistic under pressure and bounce back from setbacks, such as layoffs, disciplinary actions, and employee grievances.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift or carry up to 10 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to effectively use a computer and phone for up to 8 hours each day.
- Ability to work in the office, and if needed drive to various work locations.
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with customers, management, employees, and contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
