Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Health Benefits Consultant to support the delivery of diverse group health benefits consulting services. This role involves significant client interaction, vendor management, and analytical work, along with opportunities to engage in emerging areas of health benefits through special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Management:
- Manage vendor procurement assignments (RFPs) within budget.
- Analyze vendor responses from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives.
- Develop familiarity with unique vendor programs and their competitive advantages.
- Client Support:
- Collaborate with Client Relationship Managers (CRMs) to define project scopes.
- Support CRMs with client presentations.
- Work with the Medical Director and Clinical team on wellness and clinical programs for clients.
- Data Analysis:
- Analyze complex data, including claims experience, financial performance, cost-effectiveness, and budget projections.
- Prepare detailed reports and memoranda communicating findings.
- Review work completed by other analysts for quality and accuracy.
- Project Management:
- Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop reports on health delivery systems and other benefits-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; 9+ years of health benefits, managed care, and/or underwriting experience (extensive work experience may substitute for a degree).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Advanced Excel skills, including VBA programming, preferred.
- Strong project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and written skills.
- Collaborative work ethic and a passion for delivering client-focused solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in managing complex benefits consulting projects.
- Familiarity with wellness and clinical program development.
- Demonstrated leadership in a consulting or client-facing role.
