Paradigm is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Hardware Test Engineer to join our client, a leader in the audiovisual industry. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, implementing, and maintaining hardware production tests for our advanced digital signal processing products. Your contributions will ensure product quality, performance, and manufacturability, while also driving innovation in testing strategies. This position also includes opportunities to mentor junior engineers and collaborate closely with design and manufacturing teams.

As a Senior Hardware Test Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with design engineers to develop and implement robust test plans for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and end-of-line systems.
- Create and debug tests on flying probe platforms, ensuring thorough coverage and accuracy.
- Design and develop automation software to interface with our clients products and test instruments, including Audio Precision analyzers and custom electronic fixtures.
- Engineer mechanical and electrical test fixtures to support production needs.
- Configure and maintain Windows-based test platforms and related hardware.
- Maintain and improve existing test fixtures and software, optimizing efficiency while enhancing test coverage.
- Act as a primary point of contact for test technicians, addressing questions, troubleshooting issues, and providing guidance.
- Recommend design improvements to enhance product quality and testability.
- Serve as a mentor for junior test engineers, fostering skill development and promoting best practices.
Additional Duties:
- Analyze hardware systems and write comprehensive PCBA and system test plans.
- Identify and resolve hardware test-related issues.
- Provide training to production staff on testing procedures and debugging methodologies.
- Prepare and deliver progress reports and updates to supervisors.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Our skills and experience wish list includes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Computer Science Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in test engineering, ideally in a production environment focused on advanced electronics.
- Expertise in designing and debugging tests on flying probe platforms.
- Familiarity with audio quality signal testing methods and protocols such as AVB and Dante.
- Proficiency in JTAG boundary-scan testing and communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, Ethernet).
- Hands-on experience with programming languages and tools such as C#, Python, LabView, and C++.
- Proven ability to develop Windows-based applications for test automation.
- Strong knowledge of mixed-signal circuit design and testing methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic environments, manage multiple priorities, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
- A commitment to mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
- Onsite presence in Tigard, OR, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. periodically.
- Perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, kneeling, and repetitive motions.
- Work in environments with OSHA-compliant machine noise levels.
- Utilize tools requiring fine motor skills and visual precision.
- Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas
