Position Overview: Senior Graph Data Scientist
We're on the lookout for a Senior Graph Data Scientist to join our team in Washington, DC, with opportunities for hybrid or remote work arrangements. In this role, you'll be immersed in our client projects and internal research initiatives, championing the development of graph algorithms and methodologies to bolster advanced data management frameworks, encompassing rich-dimensional and time-series-driven decision systems. Your contributions will extend to technical documentation and mentoring of colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the go-to expert within the company for all facets of graph data modeling, from schema formulation to optimizing data connectivity for retrieval and query performance.
Conceptualize, implement, and refine graph algorithms and data structures tailored for decision support tools and classification systems.
Lead and assist in the development of algorithms for encoding, embedding, clustering, outlier detection, community identification, and dimensionality reduction.
Architect and construct queries and stored procedures for data loading, migration, and retrieval from existing databases.
Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives and track progress towards integrating graph technologies into advanced analytical frameworks.
Required Qualifications:
Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering, with a specialization in graph theory, algorithms, and data structures.
3+ years of recent professional experience in crafting and deploying graph algorithms and data structures, including heterogeneous graphs for novel applications.
Proficiency in data modeling, schema design, and database optimization, along with adeptness in performance monitoring.
Strong programming skills using 4GLs, coupled with familiarity with graph libraries, frameworks, and machine learning tools.
Dedication to fostering strong, trust-based relationships with team members, clients, and partners.
A natural inclination towards exploration and a passion for pushing the boundaries of graph theory, coupled with the ability to stay abreast of academic and industry developments.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with graph databases like Neo4j, CosmosDB, or ArangoDB.
Familiarity with cloud services and their associated database management systems.
