Sparks Group, partnered with a leading healthcare research institute with a national reputation for best-in-class grant management, is seeking a Senior Grants and Contracts Specialist. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the management of research grants, executed contracts, and clinical trial agreements. The Specialist will be responsible for facilitating the management of sponsorship documents from a variety of sources including all Federal, Non-Federal, private foundations, pharmaceutical companies, and local and state governments. Responsibilities:
- Provide official review, approval, and on-time submission of the proposal
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with program announcement, organizational and federal regulations
- Coordinate timeline for proposal submissions and submit final approved proposal to funding agency or sponsor
- Provides official proposal review to check for errors, missing or incomplete information according to sponsor requirements and proposal guidelines
- Work independently with grants, contracts, and clinical trial agreements from a variety of sponsors and funding agencies that may be federal, non-federal, state and local government, private foundations, and pharmaceutical companies
- Continuously validate and verify information needed for decision making or documentation
- Responsible for review and submission of administrative requests such as change in scope or key personnel, no-cost extensions, supplemental requests, etc.
- Forwards requests for patient-care budgets to the Clinical Trial Office (CTO) as needed.
- Award analysis and account set-up, and guidance over how federal sub-awards are issued, along with other award related agreements (e.g., consulting agreements, service agreements, or the Business Associate Agreement)
- Coordinate with other department members to ensure the award terms and conditions are met from award acceptance through close-out
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- Bachelor's degree required in Business, Healthcare, Public Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of progressive experience in grants or contracts related to biomedical research or healthcare
- Preferred office environment is central or department administration, office of sponsored programs, office of research administration, university or medical center setting, or federal grant-making agency. (Required)
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA) within three years of employment required
- Experience with funding grants for federal, non-federal, local government and pharmaceuticals
- Working Knowledge of NIH Grants, FAR clauses, and OMB circulars (A-110, A-122, and A-133) preferred
- MS Office including Word and Excel are critical. MS Access and PowerPoint are a plus. HBOC Trend star is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate ideas and strategies to client and management
- Strong analytical skills to develop and interpret complex reports, and related documentations

This job is Hybrid Remote.
Pay Range: Salary $82,000.00 to $90,000.00
