As a Senior Grant Accountant, you will:
- Manage the full cycle of grant accounting, from application, budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, to close-out.
- Prepare and submit financial reports to funding agencies in accordance with grant agreements and guidelines.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and billing for grant-funded projects.
- Review and approve grant expenditures, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions, and organizational policies.
- Maintain the grant management systems (HHS Accelerator and Grants Gateway), ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Conduct regular audits of grant accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of annual CFR reports and other regulatory filings.
- Collaborate with the finance team to integrate grant accounting with the overall financial management of the organization.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on grant financial management and compliance.
- Stay abreast of changes in grant regulations and accounting standards, implementing necessary changes in policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or advanced degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in grant accounting, preferably in the real estate or non-profit sector.
- Extensive knowledge of financial management, non-profit accounting, and property accounting.
- Proficiency in grant management systems, particularly HHS Accelerator and Grants Gateway.
- Experience in preparing CFR reports and other regulatory filings.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software.
