This position is VIRTUAL. The candidate can work remotely but they MUST live within 100 miles of Lexington so that they can come into the organization if necessary for the needs of the program. The onsite work will NOT be regular.

About the Role:
Aquila is seeking a Solutions Architect to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations.
There are a few requirements for the position:
- Must be a U.S Citizen (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)

What You'll Do:
Designs and defines system architecture and solutions for integrating multiple platforms, operating systems, cloud and applications. Determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software/cloud compatibility and maintenance of system security. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards and overall enterprise architecture. Assists in the development and management of an architecture governance process. Develops and recommends corrective actions and system solutions. Provides technical guidance for database administrators, software developers, and other stakeholders. Understands and determines requirements of infrastructure, network, and security in third party cloud offerings. Translates business requirements into functional and technical architecture. May guide decisions on which technologies to implement, operational planning and useful life of products.
Must Have:
- 4 years UAV, UAS
- 8 years Databasing (SQL or NoSQL)
- 8 years JSON, Protobuf, and SQL-Based Databases
- 8 years R, Python, SQL, and Machine Language Algorithms and Data Analysis.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Currently holds a Secret Clearance (OR a higher clearance)
- 8 years Program/Project Management OR AnalysisTranslates Business Requirements into Technical Specifications
- 8 years Software Architecture
- 8 years Software Design/Development
- 8 years XML and SQL
- 4 years Cloud-based Solutions (e.g. AWS, AZURE, Google)
- 1 years Point Data Abstraction Library (PDAL) and Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL)
