Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is actively seeking a talented Full Stack Developer who will be part of a team that is recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems.

As a valued member of our team, the Senior Full Stack Software Developer will:

• Lead the design and development of web applications that help our customers solve challenging, real-world problems.
• Design, develop, and test software from concept to deployment and operations, collaborating with other software engineers.
• Collaborate horizontally and vertically across multiple teams to create solutions that empower the customer to mission success.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations to leadership on technologies, implementations, and strategies for modern, web-hosted software applications.

Senior Full Stack Software Developer Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Eligibility to apply for and hold a US security clearance (selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field with 8-10 years relevant work experience OR MS with 6-8 years of relevant work experience.

• Minimal travel to support customer and client meetings.

• Expertise with at least one modern Python-based web application framework (preferably Django) and comfortable implementing both quick-turnaround proof-of-concept solutions and high quality, production-level solutions in that framework.
• Experience with secure, distributed software systems.
• Team player with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to communicate highly technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.

Senior Full Stack Software Developer Preferences:

• Active TS/SCI security clearance is preferred.
• Master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field.
• DoD 8570 IAT II Status (e.g., Security+, CSSP, etc.)
• Experience with Angular, Django, Kubernetes.
• Experience working in secure/air-gapped environments.
• Experience working in cloud and/or hybrid cloud environments.
• Familiarity with software design patterns.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
