About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Senior Front-End Architect who is passionate about designing scalable, performant, and elegant front-end solutions that align business goals with users’ needs. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and the UI/UX Team to design and implement best-in-class user experiences, tools, and frameworks using cutting-edge technologies. This position will allow you to have a significant influence on the overall front-end architecture and the relationship between our users and our digital platforms.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:- Designing and developing scalable, performant, and extensible enterprise-grade front-end solutions (30-50% development).
- Establishing and promoting modern front-end best practices and design patterns (e.g., component-based architecture, state management, micro-frontends, and serverless front-end solutions).
- Identifying and creating reusable components and design systems to enhance development efficiency and maintainability across projects.
- Creating and enforcing front-end architecture standards, focusing on modularity, maintainability, and ease of scalability.
- Mentoring and leading front-end developers, ensuring continuous growth and the adoption of the latest front-end technologies and practices.
- Estimating and delegating tasks for larger projects, balancing technical debt, scalability, and timelines.
- Assisting in setting the roadmap for the future front-end technology stack, focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as React, Vue.js, Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), and GraphQL.
- Collaborating with other architects, developers, DevOps, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative front-end solutions that enhance user experience and meet business objectives.
Must Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in Software Development, with at least 5+ years focused on modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Experience in designing and building scalable front-end architectures for enterprise-grade applications, leveraging component-based development and state management (e.g., Redux, Vuex).
- Proficiency in modern web technologies: JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and front-end tooling (Webpack, Babel, etc.).
- Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL for data fetching and integration with back-end services.
- Strong experience with modern design patterns like micro-frontends, Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), and responsive design principles.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and front-end performance optimization strategies (e.g., lazy loading, code splitting, caching).
- Ability to establish coding standards and lead front-end teams in adopting best practices for maintainability, scalability, and performance.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with diagramming standards such as UML or BPMN to effectively communicate system architecture.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead in fast-paced environments.
- Positive attitude and willingness to continually learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Ability to work 100% on-site in Pontiac, Michigan
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and serverless front-end solutions (e.g., AWS Amplify, Firebase).
- Strong experience in agile development environments, utilizing methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience with domain-driven design (DDD), CQRS, and event-sourcing in the context of modern front-end development.
- Extensive experience with design systems and reusable component libraries.
- Familiarity with headless CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, Strapi) and integrating front-end architectures with them.
- Understanding of SOLID principles and their application in front-end development.
- Performance optimization expertise, including Core Web Vitals and accessibility standards.
