Job Opportunity: Senior Financial Analyst, SEC & Tax
Job Shift: Day / Full-Time
Location: Bellaire-Houston In-House
The Senior Financial Analyst, SEC & Tax, will work as part of the Finance team and ensure that all financial statements, reports, and disclosures are complete, accurate, and timely for SEC reporting and internal reporting to the Executive team. This position is in downtown Houston, TX. The level and salary are commensurate with experience.
SEC reporting-related responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and filing of all financial reporting with the SEC, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, and other SEC filings as necessary
- Support the preparation and review of the quarterly earnings releases and related materials
- Prepare financial statements and disclosures with clear and well-organized documentation, including detailed financial calculations and analyses
- Review financial and other information from segments, legal entities, and other divisions for inclusion in SEC filings
- Assist in researching accounting and reporting matters and assessing the impact on the financial statements
- Support and engage in other special projects, research, and analysis as required
Tax-related responsibilities:
- Assist quarterly in the data gathering used in the preparation of income tax provision
- Coordinate income tax provision and other income tax projects with an income tax advisor
- Lead coordination with income tax advisor on annual corporate and partnership income tax filings
- Assist in providing and gathering financial information to complete tax filings such as Schedule K-1
- Liaise with other third-party tax advisors on various other tax issues such as sales tax filings and compliance and property tax filings and compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- A master's degree is preferred but not required.
- CPA designation is required within six months of receiving it.
- Three to five years of experience in accounting or finance, with exposure to SEC reporting
- Proficient understanding of SEC reporting requirements and US GAAP
- Analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
- Ability to work independently and with different workgroups
- Attention to detail
- Commitment to deadlines and providing high-quality work products
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (or similar) applications, especially Excel and Word
- Familiarity with financial reporting software preferred; no required
- Experience with Workday ERP is preferred, not required
- Public accounting experience is preferred, not required
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred, not required
- On-site attendance is required (4/1)
