Summary
The Senior Financial Data Analyst role is responsible for providing financial, analytical, reporting and decision support as a member of the Celera Motion FP&A team. This role reports directly to Celera Motion’s Manager, FP&A. This role is a business partner to Celera Motion leaders and is expected to provide insights and information to help the company make better business decisions. The candidate must be a “hands on” individual contributor, who enjoys challenges and thrives in a demanding and changing environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Facilitate data-driven decision making
- Use automated tools to extract data from source systems, such as Oracle and PowerBI
- Independently design and implement data visualization and dashboards with strong FP&A and commercial focus
- Collaborate with cross-functional users to enhance and optimize visualization reporting utility
- Develop and manage PowerBI and other external reporting and data management tools
- Perform analysis to assess quality and meaning of data
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in data analysis
- Prepare reporting for management stating trends, patterns and prediction using relevant data and collaborating with cross-functional team to identify business opportunities and solving problems
- Proactively identify process improvements and cost efficiency initiatives, while helping to drive stronger ownership over the businesses productivity programs to drive better financial outcomes
- Advanced FP&A and business knowledge, enabling independent data validation/ reconciliation and trend/ pattern identification in large data sets
- Help build out a strong FP&A function, including strong processes and controls, development of new system tools and analytics, stronger partnership with other functions, and developing advanced analytics tools
- Be the “go to” FP&A Analyst known for business support and expertise
- Assist and lead special projects as needed.
General Tasks
- Maintain strict compliance with the quality, environmental and occupational health and safety regulations and implementation of the instructions of the quality, environmental management and/or occupational health and safety officer.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
- BS in finance or accounting
- CPA, CMA or MBA preferred
- 5+ years’ progressive experience in financial planning and analysis
- Exceptional financial, analytical, and modeling skills desired
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Visual, Hyperion/HFM, Oracle and PowerBI strongly desired
- Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives, including problem identification & mitigation
- Experience in manufacturing environment
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced unstructured atmosphere with minimal supervision
