POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Senior Manager of FP&A, this senior level position will primarily be responsible for preparation and maintenance of capital project budgets and forecasts, along with the preparation of detailed and time sensitive reports for senior management and board of directors, analysis of results of forecasts and of actual financial results as well as other special projects and ad hoc reports for senior management. Requests may be time sensitive with minimal advance notice. The incumbent will be required to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of company financial and operational performance along with financial and strategic objectives. This position will be involved with and handle non-public proprietary information with strict confidentiality.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field required
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* 4 years of Finance or Accounting experience.
* Experience with capital budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
* Energy industry experience preferred.
* Demonstrated knowledge of financial planning, business operations, financial analysis and strategic planning required.
* Demonstrated ability to review and interpret commercial and various operational inputs and incorporate the components into the financial models and analyses required.
* Outstanding customer service abilities working directly with internal customers to achieve mutual objectives.
* Extensive experience with Oracle, Hyperion, SmartView and Business Objects required.
* Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
* Strong spreadsheet financial modeling using Excel required.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
* Ability to resolve complex problems.
* Ability to articulate complex information to a varied audience clearly and concisely.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to adjust schedule to accommodate unexpected changes.
* Ability to travel, as needed.
* Fluent in English, both oral and written, required.
* Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Serve as key resource for capital project forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
* Prepare the monthly cash flow forecast for all capital projects.
* Coordinate the preparation of monthly projected capital expenditures (business Flash) for all capital projects.
* Monitor actual spend against budget and prior forecast and research root cause of variances.
* Facilitates closure documentation as projects are completed.
* Support the Fixed Asset Accounting team by providing periodic updates on capital expenditures, assigning appropriate useful lives to new assets, and communicating fixed asset retirements for financial impact forecasting.
* Assist in the appropriate use and tracking of preliminary costs incurred prior to finalization of an AFE for a project, reconciliation of project expenditures, resolution of disputed invoices for capital expenditures, and in the preparation of the annual capital budget.
* Coordinate with the tax department as applicable for in-service dates and other pertinent matters.
* Coordinate with Treasury on balance sheet and cash flow forecast for the assigned business.
* Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Company at its discretion from time to time.
* Regularly communicate with supervisor work progress, concerns and questions
* Prepare materials for monthly, quarterly, and annual management reviews.
* Design, develop and utilize sophisticated financial models, as needed.
* Produce detailed reports, graphs, charts, and presentations that outline findings, explain risk, and recommend alternatives.
* Present oral and written reports on forecasts, variance analysis, and other required analyses.
* Work on special finance projects as needed.
