Job Summary:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our fiscal operations within DSAS. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Budget and Financial Management, you'll be responsible for a variety of tasks including financial analysis, budget development, monitoring expenditures, and reporting financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial planning, analysis, and budget development, integrating salary and benefits costs, revenues, and inflation.
- Provide complex financial analysis for DSAS units to support management decision-making.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc financial reports, monitoring expenditures and reporting on financial trends.
- Review and approve financial transactions including purchase orders, expense payments, and reimbursements.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures, providing guidance and training to DSAS staff.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with university policies and audit guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective financial management.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in financial analysis and budget management.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, policies, and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of internal control practices and UCSC financial systems.
- Experience with UCSC Financial Information System, Infoview, and CruzBuy.
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history background check.
- Occasional travel between main campus and off-campus workplaces may be required.
- Compliance with University of California vaccination policies.

Salary: $ 40,000.00 140,000.00 Per Year
