Senior Financial Analyst Overview:
We're in search of a dynamic Senior Financial Analyst to join our team and make a significant impact on our financial analysis and reporting functions. This remote role requires candidates to be based in either Atlanta, GA or Houston, TX. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you'll dive deep into our financial data, ensuring alignment with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) while offering valuable insights to drive informed decision-making and support robust financial planning.
Responsibilities:
- Generate comprehensive cost accounting financial statements, focusing on detailed product line analysis and incorporating additional metrics for thorough data evaluation.
- Collaborate on the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasts to facilitate effective financial planning.
- Maintain precise and current accounting records, upholding data integrity and reliability standards.
- Provide analytical insights into company operations to enhance profitability and overall performance.
- Facilitate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and fulfill additional reporting requests as directed by management.
- Reconcile general ledger data with various sub-ledgers and system data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Execute month-end closing tasks, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial reporting processes and implement best practices.
- Uphold strict confidentiality to safeguard the organization's value and sensitive information.
- Conduct monthly and ad-hoc variance analyses to pinpoint and address deviations from expected outcomes.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 5+ years of prior experience in Accounting or Finance, with a strong emphasis on account reconciliation, financial analysis, and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and intermediate skills in MS Word and MS Access (or similar database query tools).
