Description
- Client is looking for an experienced Non-profit Finance professional to join its team. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for managing government contracts (Federal, New York State and New York City) and other grants in the portfolio; serving as a liaison with funding agencies regarding fiscal matters; preparing variance reports, analysis and reconciliations, and assisting on other financial planning and analysis works as needed. Requires working with the finance team and frequent interaction with executive staff, and program managers.
Essential Duties:
- Develops contract budgets, manages budget modifications, contract amendments, contract closeout, and other contract management matters
- Prepares and submits monthly or quarterly vouchers to government funders, works with funding agencies on invoice revision, approval and payment disbursement as needed
- Monitors program expenditures, prepares monthly budget reports for each contract and programs, attends monthly budget meetings with senior management and program managers
- Works with Development to support grant application, grant budget and budget modification, and grant reports.
- Reviews labor distribution reports to ensure it is in line with contract and grant budgets. Collaborates with Finance, HR and Programs on additions, deletions and changes to program positions to help maintaining clients Position Control
- Reviews general ledger to ensure proper recording and allocation of the expense for each contract, grant and program. Collaborates with Finance and Programs to make necessary adjustments as needed.
- Interprets funder policies and procedures, funder online portal processes and contract/grant requirements and to fiscal staff and program managers
- Serves as a liaison with funding agencies regarding all fiscal matters under the supervision of AP of FPNA
- Works with Finance to ensure proper recording of contract and grant revenue and other program income under the supervision of AP of FPNA
- Keeps tracking and reconciles contract receivables, refundable advances, and temp restricted revenues under the supervision of AP of FPNA
- Maintain master contract and grant list and master program budget under the supervision of AP of FPNA
- Under the direction of AVP of Financial Planning and Analysis, prepares variety of financial reports and analysis to support program operation and senior management decision making
- Assists with funder audits and annual year-end audit under the supervision of AP of FPNA
- Performs special projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or relevant field combined with experience; Master’s degree desirable.
- 5+ years’ experience in federal, New York State and New York City grants/contracts administration.
