About the Job
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FPandA), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience in competitive intelligence or equity research.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related technical field.
- Experience in competitive intelligence in the high-tech sector.
- Experience partnering with executive stakeholders to define intelligence needs, set priorities, and balance short-term vs. long-term deliverables.
- Knowledge of business and market dynamics, business drivers, and value-creation strategies.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional and fluid environment, and work independently and manage shifting priorities in a changing environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to present insights effectively to senior leadership.

As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.
In this role, you will support the Cloud leadership by providing them timely, accurate, and actionable insights to support the growth and profitability of the business. You will manage the consolidated Cloud Profit and Loss (PandL), including Google Cloud Platform (GCP) business, data center expense, payroll and other operational expenditure, as well as maintain a perspective on free cash flow. You will have business knowledge and data driven insight which provide the team a seat at the table as integral partners and strategic advisors to the Cloud leadership team.
You will partner with cross-functional teams like Cloud Profit and Loss (PandL), Technical Infrastructure Finance, Controllership to drive the right outcomes for the Cloud business. Additionally, you will partner and influence the Corporate Finance teams on the unique nature of the Cloud Product Area (PA) operating model.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Track activity, industry trends, and market developments to identify opportunities and threats, focusing on financial performance, business models, product offerings, and Go-To-Market strategies. Leverage data sources, such as SEC filings, financial reports, analyst reports etc.
- Execute mechanisms to present market insights to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Develop performer benchmarks to improve quarterly earnings/IR insights, and inform long-term growth strategy and resource allocation. Manage research studies from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with Strategy and Operations teams to define the market to improve our understanding of market share dynamics.
- Lead the Cloud Metrics Council for developing and validating impactful metrics to the external community (Google Next, Earnings). Partner with business, communications and marketing teams to craft data-backed narratives that highlight Google Cloud's unique strengths and value proposition.
