Job Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s financial planning and analysis processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning. This position will ensure the timely and accurate preparation of corporate management reports and deliver valuable data-driven insights to inform senior leadership decision-making. The Senior Financial Analyst will lead analytical efforts to drive performance assessments, financial modeling, and scenario analysis to support business strategy.
This role demands a strategic mindset, strong financial acumen, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving, working across teams to influence business outcomes. A proactive curiosity for learning and professional growth is expected. The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to the CFO and work closely with senior leadership across various departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages, including the Board deck, with a focus on key performance indicators and financial trends.
- Performance Reviews: Serve as a business partner to the senior leadership team for financial performance reviews, providing insights and recommendations to drive business performance.
- Financial Modeling & Scenario Analysis: Lead analytical assessments of potential business opportunities by creating financial models, conducting scenario analysis, and presenting actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Take a lead role in the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasts, ensuring accurate variance analysis between actual results, forecasts, and budgets.
- Revenue & Sales Metrics: Drive in-depth analysis of sales and revenue metrics, enhancing existing variance and trend analyses, and recommending improved processes and strategies for management.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve productivity and eliminate inefficiencies across financial reporting and analysis functions.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Provide decision support by gathering, synthesizing, and presenting data and analyses in clear, actionable formats for management and stakeholders.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis & Reporting: Assist management with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting needs, as required.
- Audit Support: Support the annual audit process by providing requested financial data and insights.
- Strategic Data Preparation: Lead efforts to organize and prepare financial data and analysis for the potential future sale of the company (3-5 years).
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Technical Proficiency: Strong experience working with automated financial and accounting systems. Proficiency with Sage 300, Power BI, and Microsoft Office (Excel expertise is a must).
- Financial Reporting & Communication: Proven ability to create comprehensive financial reports, management presentations, and Board-level packages that clearly convey financial performance and strategic insights.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, or a similar financial role with significant exposure to business strategy and decision support.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit, talk, and hear regularly.
- Occasional walking and lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Requires the ability to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment, and to reach with arms.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with moderate noise levels.
- Occasional travel as required.
