Department Summary
The UNT System Budget and Planning office provides critical support to users throughout the UNT Enterprise for budgeting and resource management, financial reporting, business analytics, financial systems support, and State reporting. The Office of Financial Analysis & Planning has a strong commitment to provide flexible, solution-oriented and timely service to UNT System institutions and System Administration. In support of the UNT System and individual component missions, the office is responsible for:
Operating budget policies and guidelines.
Revenue and expenditure analysis.
Long-range fiscal planning.
Budget management reports.
Financial system access.
Business process training.
Alignment of system financial practices with State of Texas regulations and directives.
Position Overview
This position provides complex financial analysis, reporting and forecasting operations and the evaluation of potential opportunities. Efforts focus strategic financial planning. Responsibilities include the planning, design and execution of various ongoing reports, serving as a technical resource in various ad hoc projects through the identification and/or retrieval of key data elements.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field related field and five years' of accounting, financial, or closely related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

- Knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting in a multi-institutional environment.

- % - Evaluate current tasks of Budget and Financial Planning team to make recommendations for effectiveness/efficiency (ePAR and budget approvals); identify core reasons and remedies for budget adjustments and questions from departments (Budget and Financial Planning). - (Essential)
- % - In combination with the Associated Director of Budget and Planning (new title TBD), support State Reporting, Fiscal Note responses, LAR process, and Chart of Account approval. (Budget and Financial Planning) - (Essential)
