Our client, a higher education institution in Cambridge, MA, is looking to add a highly capable Senior Financial Administrator to the Finance team of one of its research departments. The individual in this role will manage a portfolio of sponsored awards and oversee the financial performance of several business units.

Compensation: $80-100K
Responsibilities:
- Support the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for several business units and process budget revisions and extensions
- Act as a resource for business units on transactional inquires and financial/budgetary questions that require problem-solving and analytic capability
- Review and approve financial transactions (requisitions, RFPs, travel vouchers, credit card charges, and billing) to support internal controls and financial operations
- Assist faculty with review of solicitation budgets development, forms and other submission requirements, and required institutional information
- Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting and forecasts to PIs and project leads
- Strategize resource allocation and effort/salary allocations across projects alongside business unit leads and PIs
- Perform complex post-award activities including award set up, under-recovery, cost sharing
- Advise business unit/project leads on financial systems, procedures, and compliance based on relevant award terms and conditions
- Assist with required financial reporting to various funding organizations
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable federal regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum 5 years of related financial administration experience required, including pre- and post-award
- Experience in an academic research environment preferred
- Experience with federal contracts and knowledge of federal guidelines required
- Must have excellent Microsoft Excel and data management skills
- Must be very comfortable with complex calculations, forecasting, and budgeting
- Able to maintain composure under stress and adapt to shifting priorities and circumstances
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to prioritize and keep track of various complex tasks/projects
- Highly accurate, mathematically inclined individual with great critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with SAP and/or Tableau is a plus
