About the Job
The Field Service Engineer will Install, troubleshoot and maintain Cold Material equipment at customer sites. Responsibilities will include training to Nordson employees and customers as well as maintenance and service in Canada.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Installation and on-site project support for installation of new equipment.
* Interface to Nordson assigned project manager.
* Serve as site manager and the Nordson representative during the installation effort.
* Ability to supervise skilled tradesmen to erect and install all Nordson supplied equipment.
* Communicate and resolve issues so that successful sign-off is reached with the customer.
* Identify, analyze and repair products Failures. Order and replace parts as needed or instruct others to do the same.
* Ensure and provide service to existing customers. Have mechanical, electrical and electronic knowledge and skills to perform needed service and instruct Local Nordson Field Engineers and customer on maintaining Nordson equipment.
* Perform system audits of Nordson equipment, create parameter sheets and Maintenance check sheets.
* Coordinates the training of Nordson Local Personnel as well as Customer personnel in proper use, maintenance and service of equipment.
* Train Employees, Contractors and Customers to Fully understand System Operation and performance.
* Maintains detailed knowledge of Nordson products, policies and follows procedures.
* Assist marketing in the Creation of Training programs for International and US employees , contractors and customers.
* Provide Technical Phone support to International Field Engineers and customers.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
* Associate’s degree or two year technical certificate, or 2-4 years’ experience in lieu of degree/certificate.
* 3-5 years successful experience in industrial service or equipment installation is required.
* Experience with PLC troubleshooting with Allen Bradley controls required.
* Basic electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills required.
* Experience with robotics is beneficial.
PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills.
* Proven ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
* Experience in the cold adhesives or finishing industry is preferred.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Ability to travel, including intermittent international travel is required.
* Demonstrated ability to learn.
