Summary:
We are looking for highly motivated Senior Field Applications Engineers/Field Systems Architects to support the sales and marketing efforts of our WLAN antenna solutions for customer premises equipment (CPE). This includes cable, FTTH, and 5G FWA gateways, set-top-boxes, extenders, and mesh systems. Core responsibilities include providing hands-on technical customer support as well as all elements necessary to verify, test and debug high-performance embedded antenna systems as well as external antenna used for deployment in customer premises broadband solutions deployed by various operators in the United States.
Essential Function:
- Troubleshoot problems in embedded operating systems and IP networks and document any field issues
- Setup regular calls with customers to provide updates and directions to internal teams as needed
- Present and explain complex concepts to customers
- Provide training to customers on Airgain Embedded Antenna Systems
- Defining process and procedure
- Delivery of technical reports and demonstrations, both remotely and in person
- Partner with the design engineers on new designs to meet customer requirements
- Manage and prioritize workload of test houses after discussing with key holders of various projects
- Manage technical relationships with domestic carriers
- Extract customer requirements for Airgain Embedded Antenna Systems
- Test planning with tier 1 operators
- Understand customer project schedule and plan supporting resources from engineering, product management, and system test teams
- Support the Airgain US Sales team
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
- 10 years as a field application engineer or similar technical role
- Deep technical knowledge of RF radio systems for Wi-Fi
- Embedded Linux operating systems
- Network performance metrics
- 802.11 Wireless LANs
- Antenna theory
- RF propagation in indoor and outdoor environments
- Proficiency in using high speed data communication test equipment.
- Good understanding of fundamental board level design and manufacturing concepts
Desired Skills and Qualification:
- Antenna design background
- Proficient with the use of lab equipment to test passive as well as active antenna systems.
- Antenna integrations or design (VNAs, anechoic chambers, HFSS, CST)
- Board level or mechanical design of test hardware
- Performance tools such as IxChariot and iPerf
- A good mixed-signal and high-speed data communications background including a firm grasp of signal integrity concepts, e.g., filtering, equalization, etc.
- Performing automation tests and analyzing results for customers
- Familiarity with over-the-air testing (OTA) methods
- Direct experience supporting antenna or system level customers in US
- Able to travel + 30% of the time throughout the US

Compensation:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000 - $149,000 + target annual bonus. This position can be hired in Arizona, California, or Minnesota. Compensation for the position will be reflective of the local market.
Our salary ranges are determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to the role, location, job-related skills, relevant education, experience and training.
The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target range for new hire base salary for the position across all US locations and varies by the location of the position.
