As a Senior Executive Assistant, you will provide executive administrative support to the EVP, General Counsel, Chief Risk Officer, Corporate Secretary, and the Board of Directors. This position demands strong independent judgment, trustworthiness, and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters. You will regularly interact with C-Level executives (including the CEO and the Board of Directors) and manage a high volume of work with unpredictable workflows. Exceptional communication skills, anticipating work, attention to detail, and the ability to make connections and interrelate department activities, operations, with an understanding how those fit into broader overall team and company strategy are essential for success in this role.
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. What you’ll do
- Provide executive administrative support for the General Counsel, Chief Risk Officer & Corporate Secretary, and Board of Directors.
- Manage all board administrative and scheduling needs, including the handling and distribution of materials.
- Proactively manage the executive leader’s calendar, balancing current and future priorities.
- Serve as a communication link between the leader, direct reports, peers, business partners, and external parties.
- Plan and coordinate complex meetings and events, and handle travel arrangements for the executive and the Board of Directors (including all quarterly board meeting travel and expenses).
Basic qualifications
- 9 years of administrative support experience
- 5 years supporting an officer or senior executive
- Advanced Microsoft office and business software skills including PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and Excel
- Ability to travel as needed (less than 10%)
Preferred qualifications
- 3 years supporting the Board of Directors
- Former experience supporting a General Counsel or legal function
- Former experienced supporting C-Suite
- Proficiency using Board Portals (e.g., Diligent)
