We are currently seeking a dynamic Senior Event Planner to join our team. This role will collaborate closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to oversee social events and corporate functions at our resort. Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee client functions to ensure utmost customer satisfaction
- Sell, manage, coordinate, and execute group assignments to meet or exceed revenue goals
- Monitor contractual agreements related to guest room blocks, meeting space, food and beverage, and special offerings
- Communicate effectively with all hotel departments to successfully execute group needs while maintaining positive client relationships
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and maintain files related to catering sales
- Participate in business review meetings, training sessions, and industry events
- Work collaboratively with other hotel departments to deliver quality service to customers
- Stay informed about market trends, competition, and customer preferences
- Control booking of meeting spaces and prepare necessary function sheets and catering correspondence
- Forecast banquet food and beverage sales and maintain accurate function records
- Analyze food pricing and catering service records to make necessary adjustments
- Arrange details for banquets, off-site events, and special parties
- Cooperate with department heads to ensure hotel commitments are fulfilled
- Assist management with other tasks as required
Skills and Experience:
- 3 years of upscale hotel experience in event operations
- Opening experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage complex tasks and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated team-centric leadership skills
- Excellent team skills, including listening, coaching, adaptability, collaboration, and facilitation
- Education: 4-year college degree preferred; CMP Certification preferred
