Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimates.
- Review project plans and specifications to identify potential issues and discrepancies.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to gather information for estimating purposes.
- Utilize industry-leading software and tools to generate detailed estimates and proposals.
- Analyze and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Assist in the development of preconstruction conceptual budgets for potential projects.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to estimating.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators as needed.
Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
- Extensive experience in general commercial, multi-family, and medical projects.
- Proven track record of successfully completing projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
- Proficient in using estimating software and tools.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
