About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Construction Estimator to lead pursuit and estimating activities for large or complex heavy civil projects. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with expertise in construction estimating, particularly with HCSS and Heavy Bid software. Projects include both private and public ventures, such as municipal and federal government projects involving sewer lines, excavation, demolition, grading, wet utilities, dry utilities, and storm drainage systems.
Compensation: Estimated $150,000 annually
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pursuit and estimating efforts for large or complex heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Utilize HCSS and Heavy Bid software to create detailed and accurate estimates for both private and public projects.
- Ensure cost-effective practices and accurate quantities align with pursuit, schedule, and pricing goals.
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to define project scope and estimate requirements.
- Incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis into unit and person-hour calculations.
- Provide technical expertise and industry knowledge for risk management, contract negotiation, and partnerships with vendors or subcontractors.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver competitive and comprehensive estimates.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Proven experience in leading estimating activities for large-scale heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Skills:
- Expert proficiency in HCSS and Heavy Bid Estimating Software (required).
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Familiarity with municipal and federal government project requirements, including sewer lines, excavation, grading, utilities, and drainage systems.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (required).
