Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic, highly-skilled, and experienced Permanent Senior Estimator for Marine & Heavy Civil Projects in the Construction industry. The successful candidate will join our team of professionals, working on a diverse portfolio of projects, and will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of estimating functions for marine and heavy civil projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a team that is committed to excellence, safety, and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the preparation of estimates for marine and heavy civil construction projects, including quantity take-offs, crew composition, and cost analysis.
2. Review and interpret civil and marine construction plans and specifications to develop detailed, comprehensive cost estimates.
3. Coordinate with project management teams to develop project schedules and work plans.
4. Engage in client and vendor negotiations and discussions to ensure competitive pricing and optimal terms.
5. Analyze and evaluate subcontractor proposals and make recommendations for award.
6. Prepare and present estimate reports and project budgets to senior management and clients.
7. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the current market conditions and trends to ensure accurate forecasting.
8. Collaborate with the project team in risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
9. Continually improve processes and systems to increase accuracy and efficiency in estimating.
10. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the estimating team.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for heavy civil and marine construction projects.
2. Proven track record of preparing successful estimates for large-scale marine and heavy civil projects.
3. Strong leadership skills with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
