Job Details
As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating the cost of construction projects and ensuring that they are completed within budget. The following are the key responsibilities for this role:
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information and ensure that bids are competitive
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop project schedules and ensure that estimates are consistent with project requirements
- Prepare and submit bids and proposals to clients, including detailed cost breakdowns and other relevant information
- Monitor and track project costs and ensure that they remain within budget
- Conduct cost analysis and recommend cost-saving measures when appropriate
- Participate in project meetings and provide ongoing support to project teams as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in estimating for ground-up construction projects in the light industrial sector
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g. Bluebeam, PlanSwift)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
