- Estimating and Bidding:
- Utilize BuildingConnected to create bid invites and manage bid submissions.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with sales teams to ensure alignment on bid strategies.
- Submit polished, professional proposals to clients and contractors.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Build strong relationships with clients, attending pre-bid meetings when necessary.
- Communicate project requirements, addressing concerns and providing solutions.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to refine bids and secure contracts.
- Transition awarded projects to project managers with clear documentation and scope of work.
- Project Analysis and Risk Assessment:
- Identify risks such as weather or regulatory issues that could impact costs.
- Collaborate with sales teams and project managers to minimize overruns and improve profitability.
- Monitor budgets to ensure financial goals are met or exceeded.
- Leadership and Team Collaboration:
- Mentor junior estimators, promoting skill development and teamwork.
- Participate in meetings to refine project strategies and schedules.
- Stay updated on roofing technologies and industry trends.
- Site Visits (Optional for Local Candidates):
- Conduct pre-bid site visits to assess project conditions.
- Provide detailed feedback on site-specific needs and challenges.
- Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in estimating for commercial roofing or construction projects.
- Proven ability to manage bids for projects ranging from $500,000 to $5M+.
- Familiarity with commercial roofing systems, such as TPO, EPDM, and metal roofs.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in BuildingConnected, estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, budgeting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- OSHA 30-hour certification or related industry training.
